Today, at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, under

the Department of Community Development, representatives from Miftah An-Nur School’s Student

Council gathered for a cheque handover ceremony following their successful Term 1 bake sale. The

proceeds of $583.20 were donated to the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023, reflecting

the students' commitment to global solidarity and support for those in need.

In attendance to represent Miftah An-Nur School were Lena Khatun, the Head of Primary and Early

Years, and 12 representatives from the Student Council, ranging from Years 1 to 8. Their presence

highlighted the collective efforts of the entire school community in supporting this noble cause.

The bake sale, held as part of the school’s initiative to promote community giving, showcased the

dedication of young leaders to meaningful causes. In his opening remarks, Marketing & IT Manager

Md Yamin Abd Hamid highlighted the significance of instilling actionable kindness in students. "Our

goal is to instill in the school not just the value of kindness, but the importance of taking action to

make a difference. Through their efforts in organizing the bake sale, the students raised an amount

that, while modest, speaks volumes about their dedication and purposeful intent," he said.

Representing the Ministry was Deputy Director Dayang Fauziah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, who

applauded the students’ efforts in her speech. “Miftah An-Nur has truly embodied and instilled in the

children the importance of taking action. This marks the first organization to make a donation this year

and the second such initiative from Miftah An-Nur. Their dedication sets an inspiring example,” she

said.

During the event, students from the council had the opportunity to share their experiences and

reflections, further emphasizing their commitment to humanitarian efforts and inspiring others in the

community to follow their example..
